Art for sale&nbsp; EN: “Avila” is a mountain located in my hometown: Caracas, Venezuela. For many local people, including myself, it is the symbol of the city. A 2,000 meters above sea level mountain, that makes us Caraqueños feel a sense of protection in a place that is so chaotic. I created this piece in a moment where I was really frustrated and sad about all the news I was hearing from my country. But instead of doing something sad, I converted my frustration in something that would speak for the beauty and pride of being from there. In this piece I wrote the words that describe what this mountain means for me, and what my life in Venezuela was like. ES:El Ávila es una montaña ubicada en mi ciudad natal: Caracas, Venezuela. Para muchos, incluyéndome a mí, es el símbolo de la ciudad. Una montaña de 2,000 metros sobre el nivel del mar, que nos hace sentir a los caraqueños una sensación de protección en un lugar tan caótico. Creé esta pieza en un momento en el que estaba realmente frustrada y triste por todas las noticias que escuchaba de mi país. There is a hook-like detail present in each letterform, representing the beginning and end of an individual. Every letter is formed by a different path, just as us humans. The use of negative space impersonates the ups, downs, and changes of direction in a person’s life path. From my perspective as a graphic designer, architectural structures can become two-dimensional by simply focusing on just one side of a building and imagining it being an element of its own instead of it&nbsp;being a part of a whole.&nbsp;East Side is a photography collection of&nbsp;buildings located in east Manhattan that has the purpose of&nbsp;taking the viewer into a journey to explore the wide variety of&nbsp;architectural styles present in&nbsp;New York City's East&nbsp;Side&nbsp;in a&nbsp;graphic way. There is a QR code for each building. ES:Gota es una tipografía inspirada en la lluvia. Fue diseñada y creada por estar en la Ciudad de México durante la temporada de lluvias, lo cuál me hizo contemplar la lluvia cada tarde. Como metáfora gráfica de cómo las gotas de lluvia se ven tan delgadas mientras caen, pero luego, tocan el suelo y dejan una marca ovalada, esta tipografía tiene un claro contraste entre lo delgado y lo grueso. EN:Gota is a display typeface inspired by the rain. Created by being in Mexico City during its rainy season, which made me contemplate the rain falling from the deep blue sky every evening. As a graphic metaphor of how the rain drops look so thin as they fall, but then, when they touch the ground they leave an oval-like mark, this font embodies a noticeable contrast between the thin and thick. El Estrangulador”&nbsp;to design a drinks menu for La Esquina. The film is about a maniac that intends to murder beautiful women artists as a form of revenge for a deformity in his face that a woman caused him in the past. He is called the strangler because that’s the technique he uses to kill his victims. He commits these crimes without leaving a trace, making it very hard for the police to catch him. The only clue they had about the strangler was that he always left a gardenia next to his victims. The police ask Santo, a hero luchador, for help to find this criminal, and that’s when the case gets solved.
